About Us
The company was founded by Joe Soliz Senior during the early 1950's. He is the first Mexican-American bricklayer to join the union in Lubbock, Texas, and there is where he completed a thorough apprenticeship in commercial masonry. Joe Sr. moved to Hereford, Texas after becoming a journeyman because he had heard the town was expanding in size and population. Which meant there was an opportunity for him to create his own masonry subcontracting business, and he did. At first, he was being awarded only housing contracts, but with time grew his reputation and his ability to move into the commercial construction industry. Throughout the years, Joe Soliz Masonry been the mason contractor for a significant amount of notable buildings in Hereford like both the old and new Community Centers, the Deaf Smith County Bull Barn, Sugarland Mall, and Hereford Regional Medical Center.
